The controllers monitor and control filter backwash timing and turbidity, functions staff said are important for optimizing water treatment and saving water. A motion to enter the agreement passed by roll call on Sept. 16. Staff reported satisfaction with the product selected and noted the purchase will allow operators to better tune backwash cycles and reduce unnecessary clean-water waste during filter maintenance.
