Council previews gaming license for Mia’s Pancake House; staff to create new GP license category

City staff told the City Council on Sept. 15 they will bring an ordinance to create an additional GP license and to consider a gaming permit for Mia’s Pancake House & Grill at 2314 Green Bay Road, unit 1.
Staff said the application package met the city’s amended requirements following a moratorium and changes to the liquor, gaming and sign ordinances. The presentation said the business location is more than 150 feet from any other licensed gaming business, meeting the city’s anti-clustering distance requirement.
A staff member explained the city requires gaming to be incidental to food-service operations and said staff will check future financial submissions to confirm that 67% of sales come from food and restaurant service and no more than 33% from gaming.
Why it matters: the change would add one gaming-authorized location and the new license category would be considered on the Oct. 6 council agenda.
