WORCESTER COUNTY, Md. — The Worcester County Board of Education approved the district’s fiscal year 2027 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and authorized staff to forward the plan to the Interagency Commission on School Construction.
District staff summarized key CIP requests that align with a previously approved memorandum of understanding with county government and the Interagency on School Construction: construction funding for Buckingham Elementary School replacement, design funding for a Berlin Intermediate School replacement or renovation, and design and construction funding for a Worcester Technical High School roof replacement. The presentation also listed future roof replacements at Stephen Decatur High School and Ocean City Elementary and provided a portable‑classroom inventory that staff said had declined from 52 units in 2017 to 11.
