Prosper ISD trustees and administrators on Monday recognized Boyer Elementary and Windsong Ranch Elementary for achieving "model" Professional Learning Community (PLC) status. Board Chair Bill Beavers and Chief Academic Officer Mrs. Coughborough commended principals and staffs for sustained implementation of PLC practices, including collaborative teacher work, use of pacing guides and intervention systems. The district noted Boyer achieved model PLC status without first being labeled a "promising practices" school and received immediate recognition based on its application and review committee feedback. "You and your team are to be commended for telling such a cohesive story about your PLC journey," the district said in remarks addressing Boyer. Prosper will display a flag and award a certificate to each school. The district highlighted specific practices at Windsong Ranch, including consistent academic growth across grade levels, use of pacing guides aligned to TEKS, intervention systems with built-in schedules and teacher clarity tools. No formal vote or policy action accompanied the recognitions; the items were presented as part of informational reports celebrating campus achievements.
