Milton — The Milton City Council voted Monday to declare a 2006 Dodge Charger surplus and authorize its disposal after staff said replacement parts are no longer available.
Public Works Director Dustin Madden told the council the Charger has more than 105,000 miles and the city can no longer acquire replacement parts for the vehicle. Madden said the car had previously served as a police vehicle and had run its course through city service.
Council Member Peretti moved to approve Resolution 25-1989 declaring the 2006 Dodge Charger (VIN 2B3KA43H16H456514) surplus; Council Member Whelan seconded. The motion passed by voice vote. Madden told the council that the city typically repurposes retired police vehicles for administrative use and that the department is shuffling vehicles to cover administrative needs.
