The O'Fallon City Council on Sept. 15 approved a resolution authorizing a contract with Kelly Excavating and Construction to build Phase 2 of the Family Sports Park north parking lot. The contract amount is $1,013,376.65 with a not-to-exceed contingency of $50,668 based on the unit price bid.
Councilmember Voorhees introduced the motion to approve the agreement. The motion received a second, no discussion was recorded, and a roll call vote recorded unanimous approval. The resolution authorizes the mayor to execute the construction agreement and permits use of the stated contingency for unit-price adjustments during construction.
The council record identifies the contract amount and contingency but does not include a construction start date, completion date or funding source line-item in the meeting minutes. The motion carried and staff will proceed with contract execution and project scheduling under the city's procurement rules.
