Board approves payments and project updates for North campus and building repairs

The East Stroudsburg Area School District’s property and facilities committee reported project completions, change orders and payments during the Sept. 15 board meeting. The board approved invoices and applications for payment covering multiple capital and repair projects.
Key expense items presented included remediation work at North Campus for 40 classrooms with a current cost of $811,780; an East Stroudsburg Elementary sprinkler replacement (phase 1) estimated at $26,430.25; and multiple flooring payments for JTL, Resica and JM Hill schools. Applications for payment to contractors on North Campus stage 3 stormwater repairs (Rutledge Excavating) totaled $207,205.13 for applications 1–3.
Change orders reducing flooring contracts were approved for Resica (decrease $22,760) and JTL (decrease $48,160). Project updates noted stage 3 stormwater repair on North Campus is completed; the North Campus water tower generator had a target completion date of the meeting date; the natatorium roof leak construction was ongoing with a proposed October 2025 completion; and the transportation facility was out to bid with revisions to the floor plan.
The committee provided a schedule for other capital items: Smithfield and JTL boilers are scheduled for 2026; East Stroudsburg Elementary sprinkler replacement phases are scheduled for 2026 and 2027; and the Purple Pit boiler replacement was slated for completion by September 2025. The board approved the presented payments and project updates.
