Advanced Preschool wins approval to expand daycare at Hassell Road site

The village board voted Sept. 15 to approve a special use for Advanced Preschool Inc. to expand an existing daycare at 2353 Hassell Road, allowing a 4,700‑square‑foot interior expansion that will add four classrooms.
"We currently are servicing approximately 220 students," said Kimberly Bianchini, owner of Advanced Early Learning Centers, during a planning commission presentation asking the board to approve the special use. Bianchini said the four new classrooms will serve children from six weeks to 12 years old and will be used for before‑and‑after school childcare as well as developmental programming and accreditation work.
Bianchini told trustees the expansion will create space for wraparound family supports, including job‑search assistance, meetings with early‑intervention providers, group and family therapy space and services intended to address an extensive early‑intervention waiting list she described for Illinois. "We're hoping to bring in our own early childhood providers to be able to not only service our students, but the students in the surrounding community to undo that backlog," she said.
The planning commission held a hearing Sept. 3 and recommended approval; during the board discussion staff said the site has adequate parking and no parking modification was required for the expansion. Trustees approved the special use by voice and roll‑call vote.
Action taken: approval of a special use permit for Advanced Preschool Inc. to allow a 4,700‑square‑foot interior expansion at 2353 Hassell Road (suite 110), enabling four additional classrooms and related services. The board set no operational hour changes beyond existing schedules and Bianchini said event or staff meetings sometimes extend into early evening but regular program hours were unchanged.
Trustees and multiple board members offered congratulations; Bianchini said she and her staff have operated locally since 1999 and that the standalone facility will reduce shared‑space congestion at the mall site where the program currently operates. A community open house and related events were scheduled by the petitioner for Sept. 23 at the Hassell Road site.
