Board reviews 2026 site-work plan; board to receive bids in March

District facilities staff presented the proposed construction projects for 2026, centering on site work at Lyon and Springman. Facilities staff said the 2026 work will include pavement, concrete, new curbs and new walks at those sites. Staff reported that bids for earlier 2025 site work at Hinking and interior finishes at Hinking and Westbrook came in at about $2 million, approximately $1 million under the proposed $3 million budget for those projects; that under-run leaves roughly $1 million to carry over into year two. Staff proposed a $4 million budget for the 2026 site work and said they would go out to bid in January and bring recommendations to the board in March. Springman will be divided into three alternate sections in the bid package; staff said if bids come in low they will pursue additional parking-lot/site work such as Glen Grove, but Westbrook’s work is considered recent and not scheduled. Board members asked whether other parking lots could be bundled into the project if bids are favorable; staff said Glen Grove would be the next candidate depending on bid results. The timeline given was solicitation in January and board consideration of bids in March. The board did not take final action at the meeting; staff will return with bid results and a recommendation at the March meeting.
