Trustees move forward with liquor-license ownership change for Rainbow Liquors at 435 S. Addison Road

Trustees on Sept. 15 recommended approval and the village board conducted first readings of ordinances to adjust the number of Class B liquor licenses for Rainbow Liquors, 435 South Addison Road, to reflect new ownership.

Committee staff said the applicant appeared before the Liquor Advisory Commission on Sept. 2, which voted unanimously to forward the application for board consideration. The applicant was described in committee as operating under the business name Rainbow Liquors and having management experience in liquor operations; the applicant attended the committee meeting and had the required licenses, staff said.

At the village board meeting, first reading was held for two companion ordinances that transfer or adjust Class B license counts to reflect the ownership change; staff told the board that the committee recommended approval. Trustees voted to advance the measures through first reading; no final ordinance adoption occurred that night. No objections or questions were raised by trustees during the hearings.

The meeting packet included the liquor-advisory commission recommendation and staff review; the village attorney read the ordinance language at the board meeting. The record in committee and at the board identified the applicant and confirmed interaction with the police department on compliance checks; no unresolved compliance issues were reported during the meeting.
