Airport fuel sales down year‑to‑date; brush attachment useful, skydiving activity slower

Doug said the airport had a slow spring, which he attributed to colder weather, and that sales improved as weather warmed; he noted pilots are flying in from farther away for recreational visits and that competitive fuel pricing and easier operations compared with nearby Burlington are helping.
Skydiving club activity was slower than the prior year. Doug said the club lost a larger jumper plane last year and has been operating a rented plane on certain weekends; a smaller jump plane was out of service much of the summer with engine problems but appeared to be returning to service late in the season.
Staff also said the boom mower attachment the village acquired will be useful at the airport for fence‑line cleanup and other maintenance tasks; Doug confirmed it worked well during recent trials.
The airport advisory committee’s quarterly reports and staff observations will be incorporated into future budget and operational planning.
