Beverly Council honors Anne Nato as 2025 Senior of the Year

The Beverly City Council formally adopted a resolution recognizing Anne Nato as Beverly’s 2025 Senior of the Year at its Sept. 15 meeting, then recessed so councilors could greet Nato and her family. The council voted 9-0 to approve the resolution. The resolution, read into the record by the presiding council officer, thanked Nato for more than 20 years of community service, including work as a paraprofessional in Beverly Public Schools, longtime volunteering at the Beverly Senior Center, and roles in local scouting and church activities. It named family details included in the resolution: Nato and her husband Lee, their daughter, and grandchildren; the resolution also noted Nato’s ties to Ward 6 and that she is a Beverly public schools graduate. When the resolution was adopted, the council then voted 9-0 to take a 10-minute recess so members could congratulate Nato and take photographs. The council’s reading recounted Nato’s volunteer roles at the senior center — exercise classes, reading groups, a monthly puzzle event, walking club participation — and described her forays into crafts and cooking that the resolution characterized as part of her “servant leadership.” The council ordered that a copy of the resolution be spread upon the city records. No separate policy action accompanied the honor; the item was ceremonial and recorded as Order 226. The meeting returned to regular business after the recess.
