Commission approves lease modification for Grow Zeal LLC at airport site

The Grosse Hill Airport Commerce Park Commission voted to approve a modified lease for Grow Zeal LLC, a proposed restaurant and housing project at the airport. The modification removes a $25,000 escrow requirement and instead makes the tenant responsible for paying for architectural plans with a condition: if the tenant does not proceed with construction by Dec. 31, the airport will own the plans. “He's asked that, since he's going to be spending money for those architectural plans, that instead of having an escrow amount of 25,000, he has agreed that after December 31, if he's not moving forward, we own the plans that he's developed,” the commission chair said in discussion. Airport Manager Janelle told commissioners that all other terms of the agreement remain unchanged. The resolution before the commission recommended approval based on the airport commerce park manager’s recommendation. Commissioner Manns moved to approve the lease; Commissioner Filarski supported the motion. The motion carried on a voice vote. No amendments were recorded at the meeting.
