County administrator reports skate park opening, turf field progress and near‑completion of radio tower

The Louisa County administrator reported several project updates and departmental notes at the Sept. 15 Board of Supervisors meeting.
The administrator said the new skate park at the Betty Queen Center is slated to open the coming Saturday and that signage and public information are being finalized. Turf field construction is progressing; the administrator said retaining wall work and coordination between architects, engineers and the construction crew are ongoing and weekly on‑site meetings are in place to resolve issues.
The administrator said the radio tower at Holly Grove is nearing final completion and staff await a cutover date from Motorola. The general services report detailed a recent shelter event in which 17 animals were adopted, and the administrator announced that Maggie Make Breakeville has started as the county’s land conservation and agricultural coordinator. The administrator also corrected an earlier date: the Fall Festival will be Oct. 11, 2025.
Board members asked for updates on the Holly Grove tower schedule; the administrator said a specific cutover date had not yet been provided but would be shared as soon as Motorola confirms it.
