Board approves pass‑through appropriation to Cuckoo CDA for special assessments

The Louisa County Board of Supervisors on Sept. 15 approved a resolution authorizing the county to collect special assessments for the Cuckoo Community Development Authority (Cuckoo CDA) and to pass those collected revenues through to the authority.
Miss Colvin, a county staff member, explained the resolution implements an agreement under which the county will collect special assessment revenues on behalf of the Cuckoo CDA and then remit the funds back to the authority once collected. Colvin said the county budget did not yet include the anticipated revenues when the budget was built but that staff now has the numbers and seeks a budget appropriation to pass the assessments through when they are collected in March.
The board moved, seconded and approved the pass‑through appropriation resolution unanimously. No further action was taken at the Sept. 15 meeting; the action delegates collection and remittance to county finance staff under the existing agreement.
