County seeks collection on $10,000 judgment; new contempt hearing set after no-show

County staff informed the board that the county holds a $10,000 judgment against Mary Fleener and that the county is now pursuing collection. Staff said Fleener "was supposed to be in court September 9 for a hearing" but "failed to show up after being served," and that the court has scheduled a new hearing on Oct. 30 at which she must show cause why she should not be held in contempt.
Staff described the standard collection process: filing a motion for proceedings supplemental, setting a hearing, and if the debtor does not appear after being served, issuing a contempt citation. If a debtor still fails to appear, staff said the court may issue a body attachment and the debtor can be arrested; bond would then be applied to the debt. "Basically, we're trying to get her to pay now," staff said.
Board members asked no additional questions on the record. No formal board action was taken; staff reported they would proceed with the collection process and the scheduled court hearing.
