The committee approved a resolution to purchase a 2025 Peterbilt dump truck from JX Truck Center for an amount not to exceed $174,526.14, citing Sourcewell joint purchasing authority (section 2‑458). Members voted in favor after a motion by Alderman Donaworth and a second from Alderman Newsom.
A 110‑gallon airless striper truck to handle lane‑line and traffic markings was approved from MB Companies, Inc., for a not‑to‑exceed amount of $242,885.05. Staff explained the new striper will support main arterial and side‑street markings; the current striper is older, has mechanical issues and parts are hard to obtain, the director said.
The committee also approved purchase of a 2025 Ford Transit cargo van from Coombs Auto Group for an amount not to exceed $50,710.95 under a good‑faith waiver. Staff said the purchases use Sourcewell joint purchasing where applicable and that aging equipment will be sent to auction where appropriate.
All three items were included on the council consent agenda and carried in the council vote that followed the committee recommendations.
