The Homewood City Council on Monday accepted a construction bid from Gillespie Construction for Drain Springs Phase 2 and approved an engineering services contract with Steiner and Associates. The Finance Committee had recommended both actions by unanimous votes prior to the full council's approvals.
"The committee met last week and voted 5 to 0 to recommend accepting the bid from Gillespie Construction," reported Mister Guatney from the finance committee, adding that the motion was made by Councilor Grama and seconded by Councilor Walton. The council voted to accept the bid; the action was recorded as Resolution 25 1 56.
On a separate motion, the committee also voted 5 to 0 to recommend accepting the engineering services proposal from Steiner and Associates. Mister Guatney said that motion had been made by Councilor Harder and seconded by Councilor Aleman. The council approved the engineering contract; that vote was recorded as Resolution 25 1 57.
Both items passed on the council floor by unanimous votes following the committee report. No dissenting comments were recorded in the meeting minutes on Sept. 15.
