Decatur County commissioners on Sept. 15 approved a $3,600 survey to clarify property lines on Sholby Lane after staff found online GIS and paper maps inconsistent with visible site features.
Staff said the existing recorded property line appears to cut up against the back of a concrete area and into a parking lot; the parcel had not been surveyed since the 1950s or 1960s, staff said. The approved survey will provide updated coordinates and help the county plan investments in that area with accurate boundary information.
Commissioners voted in favor of the survey and directed staff to proceed; no further action or expenditures beyond the survey were taken at the meeting.
