Village amends Foxy's Hideaway video-gaming license to allow up to three terminals, contingent on square footage

The East Dundee Village Board approved an amendment Sept. 15 to grant Foxy's Hideaway a supplemental video gaming license that would allow two-to-three gaming terminals depending on measured square footage. The board approved the motion as amended to permit "up to 3 depending on square footage." The action was contingent on staff verification of the establishment's final square footage.

Anastasia, representing Foxy's Hideaway, told the board she had submitted corrected square footage reflecting more than the architect's earlier submission and that the firm's interior measurements appeared to put the establishment in compliance for additional terminals. "The square footage that was submitted by the architect was just for the bars... right now, it's 750 square feet per game, and mine looks slightly over 2,100," Anastasia said.

The amendment to the original motion changed the number of approved terminals "from 2, to, up to 3 depending on square footage." Trustee Guzman announced a recusal, saying he does business with nearby condos and did not want to show favoritism. The board voted to approve the amended ordinance; multiple trustees voted "yes," and Guzman was recorded as recused.

The approval instructs staff to verify the submitted square footage and implement the terminal allowance consistent with village code and any applicable licensing requirements. No changes to village licensing fees were made in this vote.

The ordinance amended section 116.05(j)(3) of the village code to grant a supplemental video gaming license for Foxy's Hideaway LLC; the action was approved by the board with the stated square‑footage contingency.
