Crowley ISD outlines 2025–26 improvement goals: raise accountability rating, boost staff participation and attendance

Trustees received an initial presentation of the Crowley ISD district improvement plan for 2025–26 that sets three primary goals: raise the district’s academic accountability rating by three points, increase staff participation in climate surveys and improve student readiness and attendance. Dr. Collin (staff member) presented the plan as a first review and said the board would be asked for feedback before the next meeting. “Our first goal for academic, literacy and numeracy is to increase our overall academic annual accountability rating by 3 points, which would bring us up to an overall B from the state,” Dr. Collin said. The presentation said the district will focus on STAAR (referred to in the transcript as “STAR”) achievement and academic growth, annual growth measures and closing gaps for specific subpopulations. The plan’s second goal centers on professional learning and staff retention; the presentation said the district aims to increase staff participation in the end-of-year climate survey and will administer the survey three times during the year with campus-specific and district-wide sections. The third goal targets student readiness, safety and well-being, with an objective to increase attendance by 0.5 percentage points. The district said it will use a Frontline early-warning system that pulls discipline, attendance and grade data to identify students in need of intervention. The presentation also mentioned high-school changes to TSI testing alignment and career/technical education supports; trustees did not take formal action on the plan at this meeting and the item was presented for informational review and future feedback.
