Police Chief Ed Clark asked the council to approve two special-events police-service agreements on Sept. 15: one with Siegel’s Cottonwood Farm for an October pumpkin festival and one with Carillon Lakes Homeowners Association for a trick-or-treat event on Oct. 26. The council approved both agreements by roll call.
Chief Clark presented the contracts and said the liability insurance and the contract were attached. A council member noted the insurance form listed the wrong city address; Clark acknowledged the issue. Council also discussed event dates and pedestrian safety near Weber Road; Chief Clark said the organizers had not requested additional dates and that the department would “keep an eye on it.”
The council approved the Siegel’s Cottonwood Farm police-services agreement by roll call (motion moved and seconded; insurance attached) and later approved the Carillon Lakes HOA agreement for Oct. 26. After those approvals, Chief Clark thanked staff and volunteers for participation in the city’s Neighbors Night Out on Sept. 4 and singled out Officer Outlaw for organizing the event.
The approvals authorize police staffing at the listed events per the agreements; council flagged an insurance-address correction and directed staff to follow up if event dates expand.
