Economic and community development staff told the council Sept. 15 that an ordinance to adopt a municipal cannabis retailers occupation tax was ready for approval. The council voted to adopt the ordinance amending Title 3 of the Crest Hill Code of Ordinances.

Dan Ritter presented the ordinance and said it had been discussed at the previous week’s work session. Council members moved, seconded and approved the ordinance by roll call; the minutes record the item as Ordinance 2032.

The adoption places the tax language in Title 3 of the municipal code. The council did not discuss specific tax rates in the public portion of the minutes beyond noting the ordinance updates the city code. The ordinance passed on Sept. 15 and is recorded in the city’s ordinance log.
