The New Carlisle City Council voted to accept the finance report and the mayor's court report for August at its Sept. 2 meeting.
Finance Director Colleen Harris told the council the city received $835,239.54 in August for a year-to-date total of $9,623,954.85. For August the city expended $639,233.37 and had a year-to-date total expenditure of $8,219,791.44. Harris said the beginning cash balance on Jan. 1 was $9,257,433.12 and the balance at the end of August was $9,060,437.34. She also provided historical revenue and expense reports and a condensed summary spanning 2020'2025.
Harris reported monthly net income-tax collections for August of $187,319.91 and said that year-to-date collections were approximately 7.42% higher than the same period last year; she listed last year's comparable total as $1,603,500.77. The mayor's court collected $2,660 in fines and court costs for August and a year-to-date collection of $30,766.
Council took a motion to accept the reports and recorded affirmative roll-call votes.
No amendments to the financial statements or transfers were proposed during the meeting; council accepted the reports as presented and placed them on record.
