Stevens County’s finance committee approved reissuing an RFQ to solicit bids for surplus copiers and printers after the initial effort produced no bids for several items.
County staff told the committee that earlier sale attempts had missed the health department’s submission window by about three weeks, and several items were sold before the county could receive offers. Staff said a number of nonprofit organizations expressed late interest after the RFP closed; county procurement staff and an asset manager recommended reposting the RFP to attract more bidders.
Committee members discussed storage and location of the equipment; staff said the county has roughly eight copiers in different offices and storage sites and that bidders may bid on individual machines or multiple items as they prefer. The RFQ will be posted online and run in the newspaper per county procurement practice.
The committee approved the motion to reissue the RFQ by voice vote and instructed staff to re-post the solicitation and accept bids on individual or multiple items.
