Yonkers — The Budget & Finance Committee on Sept. 16 moved to the full City Council a resolution to amend an intermunicipal agreement (IMA) with Westchester County to add $227,925 for road and parking improvements tied to the Hudson River Museum.
The amendment raises the total IMA value to $14,202,276.87, according to City staff. The committee voted to place the resolution on the council agenda as an addendum after no members objected.
Commissioner John Lazewski told the committee the $227,925 will fund “certain road and parking improvements” related to the museum and that those improvements already appear as additional funds in the city’s capital budget. He said the increase brings the IMA to “$14,202,276.87.” When asked whether the award was a matching grant, Lazewski replied, “No, it is not.”
Committee members did not request further changes and agreed to move the related special ordinance authorizing acceptance of the $227,925 and amending the grant budget for fiscal year 2025–26 to the council meeting that evening.
Background: the amendment is to an existing IMA between the City of Yonkers and the County of Westchester concerning the JFK Marina. City staff said the road and parking improvements were budgeted by the engineering department in the capital plan prior to the committee action.
The full council will consider the amendment and the related funding ordinance at its next meeting.
