Oakwood โ The Oakwood City Council on Sept. 15 held a first reading of an ordinance to appropriate $40,003 from the Court Clerk Computerization Fund to cover data conversion and upgrades to the Oakwood Municipal Court case management system.
Vice Mayor Byington explained the court applied for and was awarded a 2025 technology grant from the Ohio Supreme Court totaling $38,715. With required local matching funds, the total project cost is $40,003, Byington said. The opportunity was not known when the 2025 budget was adopted, so council must enact a supplemental appropriation to allow the court to proceed in calendar year 2025.
This item was a first reading; no final vote occurred. Byington said the council will address the ordinance at the next council meeting. The transcript did not include a detailed breakdown of match sources or the vendor for the software upgrade.
The council did not adopt the ordinance during the Sept. 15 meeting; action is expected at a subsequent meeting when the ordinance returns for vote.
