The city also used roughly $150,000 to acquire two homes for Homes Within Reach (a land‑trust rebranding of the former WALT), and provided fair‑housing and senior services support; senior community services provided chores and light‑maintenance work that assisted nearly 150 local seniors. Staff said about $450,000 is the city’s typical annual allocation but program income and carryover brought the total higher for the year. The CAPER public comment period runs through Sept. 26; Hennepin County, which submits CAPER materials for the consortium, has a parallel comment period and will submit the consolidated report around Sept. 30. No council action was required at the hearing; the council opened and closed the public hearing and invited public comment but heard none at the meeting.
