TastyBreads, a wholesale frozen‑dough manufacturer, told the Village Board on Sept. 15 it is purchasing the 100,000‑square‑foot building at 600 West University Drive and seeks a land‑use variation to permit bakery‑product production in the M1 research and light manufacturing district.
Tom Budzik, the project architect, said the company mixes, molds and freezes dough for wholesale distributors and does not bake on site. The company plans two process lines initially with space for two more and anticipates up to 150 employees across two shifts (about 75 production employees per shift). Budzik said tank trucks will deliver flour via an enclosed manifold to on‑site silos to minimize dust.
