Sterling Heights celebrates corporate-funded median tree planting under Inspiring Green program

He said the city invited stakeholders for a ceremonial dedication during rush hour and thanked the police department for traffic coordination.
Vanderpool said a second automotive company has signaled interest in the Inspiring Green program and may sign a contract for another median section. Councilmembers praised the visual improvements and sustainability benefits during remarks.
No formal action was taken; the announcement was part of the city manager’s report. Vanderpool also reminded residents the city’s second e‑recycling event is scheduled for Oct. 4 at the DPW facility.
