Summary
Village engineer Chris Dobkins updated trustees on construction of a cell building, Park 90 Access Road sanitary work and paving schedule for Illinois Route 251; pavement maintenance is expected to begin next week.
Village engineer Chris Dobkins told the Board of Trustees on Sept. 8 that the cell building foundation is complete, underground work is finished and the contractor will begin the first wall pour the following day. He said the parking lot has been rough graded. Dobkins also reported that the Park 90 Access Road developer is nearly finished with earthwork and will start sanitary sewer and water installation this week; the village's construction is planned to run concurrently with foundation work by the developer under an existing agreement. He said pre‑construction activities for the village pavement maintenance program are set for the week and submittals are arriving, with work expected to begin next week. On the Illinois Route 251 improvements, Dobkins said street lights were delivered earlier than expected but banner arms were the wrong length; crews installed the lights and will replace the banner arms when the correct ones arrive. He said IDOT is progressing well, plans to flip traffic control so inside lanes open while the outside lanes close, and paving between Windsor and Melbourne is tentatively scheduled for the week of Sept. 29. Dobkins noted that a few items had come up during patching that his team would review this week. No action or board direction was recorded; trustees received the updates during the administrative reports section.
