At its September 2025 meeting, the Public Improvement and Safety Committee voted to approve Resolution 67 R 25, a driveway-width variance for 741 Brentwood Drive, and forwarded the measure to the village board’s Oct. 6 meeting.
Staff said the property owner is requesting a 30-foot driveway where the village code permits a maximum of 24 feet. The staff report noted the garage already extends the driveway’s width and that widening toward the street would improve access for additional vehicles. Staff recommended approval with conditions, including that the applicant apply for a driveway permit and replace the culvert to meet village code standards.
Committee members moved and seconded the resolution and then voted in favor; the motion carried. The applicant was not present for the committee discussion. No members of the public commented on the item during the meeting.
The committee’s action is a recommendation to the village board; final approval and any enforcement of the conditions (driveway permit and culvert replacement) will be determined by the board at the Oct. 6 meeting.
Meeting housekeeping: the committee also approved minutes from Aug. 18, 2020 earlier in the agenda and then adjourned.
