District credits equity work, SRBI and behavior interventions as suspensions, incidents fall

Officials reported districtwide decreases in out‑of‑school suspensions for a third consecutive year, a 12.8% decrease compared with the previous year, and a reported 11.4% decline in suspensions/expulsions in another passage of the presentation. The cabinet noted specific school improvements — for example, one middle school reported a 34.5% reduction in incidents and another reported a 14.4% decline in overall incidents — and said Panorama climate and belonging measures improved districtwide.
Administrators said some of the behavior‑and‑equity work has been grant‑funded (Alliance/priority schools funding and other philanthropic support) and that sustaining some programs will require local budget absorption if grants end. The district also said it had invested in staff and coaching to scale SRBI and that school improvement plans now include growth goals targeting marginalized subgroups.
