At a special meeting on Sept. 15, the Evergreen Board of Directors voted to ratify a collective bargaining agreement between Evergreen Public Schools No. 114 and the Public School Employees (PSE) of Evergreen PSC. Director Gronwold moved to adopt the agreement; Director Perkins seconded the motion, which the board approved by voice vote.
Board President Weatherspoon thanked both bargaining teams for reaching an agreement before classes resumed. “I appreciate the union and district bargaining teams for coming to an agreement and helping get our school year off to now what I hope is a good start,” President Weatherspoon said. “We appreciate all of our PSE staff, our classified staff, and our district staff, and look forward to continuing to work together for the rest of the school year and beyond.”
Another board member echoed that sentiment, saying the resolution allows district staff and union partners to “serve our students and our families and communities” and to “keep on doing the work that’s right for our students.” The board recorded no individual roll-call vote in the public transcript; the chair called for a voice vote and stated the motion carried.
Discussion on the agreement was brief and focused on appreciation for the negotiation process and readiness for the school year. No legal citations or contract terms (for example, salary increases, term length, or specific contract language) were read into the public record in the transcript.
The board moved on to its next agenda item after the ratification.
