Board recognizes Tennessee Teacher of the Year finalist Allyson Rutherford; Haynesfield principal presents student video

The Bristol Tennessee Board of Education recognized Allyson Rutherford, a Tennessee Teacher of the Year finalist, at its Sept. 15, 2025, meeting. Dr. Walk presented Rutherford with a book plaque and flowers on behalf of the district and the board. Ms. Rutherford offered remarks thanking the board, district and school administration, colleagues, family and former teachers; the minutes summarize her comments but do not quote her verbatim.

Earlier in the meeting, Haynesfield students Claire Hardin and Bea Story led the Pledge of Allegiance. Haynesfield Principal Tanika Hardin presented remarks and a video titled “The Making of a Hurricane” as part of the Hearing of Delegates segment.
