Chief says early-morning blaze contained to one house after 'amazing' response by firefighters

A severe residential fire early on the morning of Sept. 15 was contained to a single house with only ancillary damage to surrounding homes, North Aurora’s fire chief told the Village Board at its Sept. 15 meeting.
"We had a severe fire early this morning around 01:30. When I arrived... the fire department did an amazing job," Chief Keith said. He told the board the incident "could have been a catastrophe" but crews limited the damage to the primary house and nearby properties.
The chief did not provide the address or the cause during the board meeting. He described the response as effective and said the department contained the fire to one structure and minimized broader damage. No formal action or request for funding was made at the meeting.
