Students from Strongsville High School presented to council on Sept. 15 to promote the upcoming homecoming parade scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18. Road closures related to the parade will begin at 6 p.m., and organizers asked attendees to arrive before that time.
Senior Genny Sefania said the parade’s intent is to bring elementary, middle and high school students together and to include community members. “Our goal was to bring all the elementary schools and all the community together for one big celebratory event,” she said.
Senior Abby Holmes provided logistical details and the parade’s Instagram handle for further information: strongsville_hoco_parade. The students gave council a flyer with a QR code that links to donations to reimburse schools for float costs; they said fundraising proceeds would be used to cover those materials.
Council thanked the students and encouraged residents to attend. The students said the band, cheerleaders and football team will gather for a community pep rally at the stadium after the parade.
