Commission approves transfer of Restaurant A liquor license to new Hobbs location

The license application is for a transfer from 915 East Bender Boulevard to 1015 Joe Harvey (Johari) Boulevard in Hobbs.
Desrosiers Du Yon asked whether the proposed location was within 300 feet of a church, school or military installation; Liu said it was not. The deputy attorney also confirmed that notice of the public hearing had been published in the Hobbs News-Sun in August 2025.
Action: Following the public hearing the commission voted unanimously to approve the transfer of Restaurant A liquor license RES000180. The roll call vote recorded yes votes from Commissioners Mills, Fields, Penick, Girth and Mayor Pro Tem Joseph Calderon.
