CAROL STREAM, Ill. — A resident said drivers are exiting a veterans-only bicycle path behind the Clean Creek condominiums and crossing sidewalks near Cloverdale School in ways that put children at risk.
Edward Hernandez told the Village Board he drives his daughter to Cloverdale and frequently observes vehicles coming out of the bicycle path; he said he took video evidence on his phone and offered it to police. “There’s a lot of traffic coming out of that path...it makes me worry because there’s a lot of kids walking to their school,” Hernandez said.
The board responded that the chief of police would review the evidence and accompany Hernandez on an inspection, and trustees directed staff to follow up. No citation or formal enforcement action was announced at the meeting.
