The Harrisonville Board of Aldermen approved Council Bill 60 to appoint the city’s director of public works as the city’s director on the Missouri Joint Municipal Electric Utility Commission and to appoint the assistant city administrator as the alternate director. The measure passed on a roll-call vote and was recorded as Resolution 2025‑28.
Jeremy, speaking for staff, described the resolution as a housekeeping requirement of the municipal electric cooperative to maintain Harrisonville’s voting rights in the consortium that supplies the city’s electric power. “To make sure that we maintain those voting rights, the positions of the people that will serve to cast our votes have to be named, and then we provide this resolution to them as adopted by the board,” Jeremy said.
Nut graf: the resolution names the officials who will cast the city’s votes within the cooperative structure; the board did not attach conditions and no public comment or opposition was recorded.
The motion to approve was made by Alderman Franklin and seconded by Alderman Milner; roll call indicated approval by members present. The mayor announced that Council Bill 60 is now Resolution 2025‑28.
