Engineer Jason Ludinger recommended for drinking water board; committee praises technical expertise

The Senate committee voted to forward Jason Ludinger, a licensed professional engineer and acting president and CEO of Bowen Collins and Associates, to the full Senate for confirmation to the Utah Division of Drinking Water board.
Ludinger told senators he brings 27 years of experience in water infrastructure design and construction, noting projects including large-diameter aqueducts, multimillion-dollar pump stations and work on seismic resilience for critical pipelines. “I hope to offer the board my technical expertise in water resources planning, infrastructure and construction management,” he said, citing familiarity with plan review and permit processes and with Division of Drinking Water rules under Title 309 of the Utah Administrative Code.
Committee members commended his technical background and noted statewide infrastructure needs; Senator Levy observed local facilities on the Wasatch Front need updating. Nathan Lundstad, who said he has reviewed Ludinger’s projects over 20 years, spoke in support of the nomination. Senator Ravey moved a favorable recommendation to the full Senate; the committee approved it unanimously.
The committee’s action was a recommendation only. Ludinger’s stated priorities include promoting resiliency and innovation in drinking water infrastructure, including seismic-hardening of aqueducts that cross the Wasatch Fault.
