Radford planning commission forwards rezoning request for 212 Third Avenue

Radford Planning Commission member Simpkins reported to the Montgomery County Planning Commission on Sept. 10 that Radford’s planning commission voted July 21 to forward a rezoning application from New River Community Action for property at 212 Third Avenue.

‘‘They had 2 items. 1 was electing officers, and then the second new item was new business where the New River Community Action submitted an application for the rezoning on a property known as 212 Third Avenue to request to rezone a portion from B 3 to Central Business, to R 4 Multifamily. And so the recommendation was approved to take it forward,’’ Simpkins said.

The Radford commission’s action was reported as a recommendation to move the application forward; Simpkins did not provide vote tallies or next-step dates during the Montgomery County meeting.
