Palmdale Aerospace Academy delays full student-meal rollout until Jan. 1 after kitchen equipment and electrical work

Chief Business Official Missus Azura told the Palmdale Aerospace Academy Board of Directors that the planned October rollout of expanded food service for middle and high school students will be delayed until Jan. 1 so contractors and staff can complete electrical and gas work and install walk-in refrigeration and a convection oven.

The delay means the full kitchen will be completed when students are not on campus. "So we are looking at the length of full rollout until January 1 after winter break, and that will give, all the parties time to get the kitchen up and running everything installed when children are not here," Azura said. She added the food-services team will try to introduce some items in October so the program can show incremental progress.
