During public comment on Sept. 2, resident Lindy Barringer described a multi-decade, private restoration of George Davis Creek on her property and invited council members and others to visit the site.
Barringer said the creek had been a concrete culvert for about 90 years and was later transformed by private work, including native-plantings and construction of a fry pond and egg box that she says enabled kokanee spawning after 15 years of care. She emphasized the project was completed by her and her husband using private time and funds and invited council members to call to arrange a visit.
This was a public comment item; council took no formal action. Barringer provided a telephone contact in her remarks for anyone wishing to schedule a visit.
