Mayor Amick told the Board of Public Works and Safety on Sept. 10 that Scottsburg City Hall will close later in September while the office moves to the Mid America Science Park so the courthouse can convert the current city building for judicial use.
Speaking during announcements, Mayor Amick said the move will allow the courthouse to repurpose the existing city building into “all judicial” space and that the relocation “has saved our citizens and county a huge tax increase,” adding, “so no tax increase for that.” The mayor announced City Hall would be closed for the move and said the offices will reopen on Oct. 1.
The board did not provide detailed logistics, contact points or a precise single start date for the closure in the meeting record beyond the mayor’s announcement; staff follow-up will be needed for exact closure dates and interim service arrangements.
