The Greenville County Committee on Finance approved a resolution authorizing an equipment master lease agreement in an amount not to exceed $7,000,000 to fund rolling fleet vehicle replacements across county departments.
Mr. Lambert presented the resolution and told the committee the program is a recurring annual lease that finances replacement vehicles the county will own. "This is a resolution presented before you authorizing the equipment, lease agreement in the amount of not to exceed $7,000,000," Mr. Lambert said at the meeting.
Committee members asked which departments were included. Staff said the majority of the replacements are for the sheriff’s office (department code referenced by staff), with other large allocations to the coroner and EMS and additional smaller items for parks and recreation (mowers and similar equipment). Staff said replacement decisions are made with the fleet services manager and department heads, targeting replacement around 150,000 miles to reduce maintenance and maintain reliability. The presenter characterized the program as an annual cycle that has replaced roughly $7,000,000 worth of vehicles in recent years.
The committee moved and approved the resolution; the chair called the ayes and the motion carried.
Ending: Staff did not provide a department‑level rollup in committee other than naming the major users; the committee approved proceeding under the master lease and staff will execute financing and replacement schedules.
