Peter Shaw, CDBG/HUD grants manager for the City of Cocoa, told the Board on Sept. 10 that bids were opened on Sept. 3 for demolition of a residential structure at 1344 South Jay Street and that Jeremy Schultz Farms LLC submitted the lowest responsive bid at $13,200. The board voted to award the CDBG demolition contract to Jeremy Schultz Farms LLC.
Shaw reported the bids received: Alliance Excavating and Demolition Inc., $16,685; Jeremy Schultz Farms LLC, $13,200; MC Excavating and Demolition LLC, $36,432; and Underground Excavating Solutions, $47,300. He said $929 was transferred from the fiscal year 2021 CDBG unallocated funds to help pay for the demolition and that the fiscal year 2024 CDBG demolition account had an available balance of $12,271.
A board member moved to award the contract to Jeremy Schultz Farms LLC as the lowest, most responsive bidder on CDBG project B24-441. Another board member seconded the motion. The presiding official called the vote; members answered "Aye," and the motion carried.
Shaw's presentation and the board action were recorded without additional public comment. The contract award is contingent on standard contracting steps not detailed in the meeting record.
