Southborough Conservation Commission members continued a notice of intent Sept. 11 for an in‑ground pool at 13 Foley Drive after the applicant was not present and the conservation agent reported she had not received a DEP file number.
The agent told commissioners the home previously had an above‑ground pool permitted in 2019 whose liner failed; the owners propose replacing it with an in‑ground pool in the same footprint and converting the existing deck to a paved patio. The agent said the rear yard is saturated with high groundwater and that the owners have proposed to stop mowing a portion of the rear property to increase buffer vegetation. She also recommended erosion controls and tying roof gutters to infiltration near the pool area because of the high water table.
Because the DEP file number was not available at the meeting, commissioners continued the hearing to the next public meeting; the motion to continue carried. Staff asked the applicants to supply the DEP number and documentation of erosion‑control measures before the next meeting.
