Chair Jeremy said he drafted a letter to the License Commission based on a public forum in which Meg Robbins raised long-running neighborhood complaints about noise at TELUS. "I wrote a letter to the Northampton license commission, based on the report or the, the the at the public forum that we had when, Meg Robbins made the comment about, you know, she talked about, the noise that happens at TELUS and and the the the neighbors who have been complaining about that for a long time," he said.
Councilor Perry said she prepared a draft combining the TELUS noise issue and concerns about the reentry provisions in another ordinance; she noted the reentry language requires businesses to report to police if they operate after a stated hour and that the trial-period language cited in the ordinance is outdated. Committee members agreed that the chair and co-chair should finalize the referral letter and that one of them would present it to the License Commission at an upcoming meeting. They also asked that the final letter be circulated to the full ordinance-review committee for the record.
No formal vote was required; members instructed the chair and co-chair to collaborate and then transmit the letter to the License Commission.
