David (city manager) told the commission that the city has hired Myron Burr Jr. as assistant city manager. Burr is joining Clayton from the Chancellor’s Office at the University of Missouri–St. Louis, where he worked on strategic initiatives and previously led a DEI office. David said Burr has a master’s degree in higher education, is nearly finished with a Master of Public Administration and has a bachelor’s degree in communication.
David said Burr will be the primary staff liaison to the Community Equity Commission and will start with the city on Sept. 29. The city manager said Burr’s background in strategy and equity work should make him a useful point of contact for the commission.
Commissioners asked to meet Burr at the October meeting; David said Burr will attend and be introduced to the commission.
